Q1. Is my piece of furniture worth having restoration/refurbishment work done to it?
The answer lies in whether: 1) the original material is of sufficient quality to warrant the job, 2) the piece means something to you sentimentally, or 3) the piece is an antique. The staff at the Specialists of the South can guide you in a detailed look at your particular piece.
Q2. Can you upholster my piece of furniture even though it has been stripped down to the bare wood?
Yes. In fact, all of our upholstery jobs begin by taking the old fabric off and assessing the padding and support on the piece. Our upholstery specialist is knowledgeable and capable of building your upholstery job from the frame up. Our upholsterer is also qualified to assess the frame when he is stripping the piece and to repair it if required.
Q3. Can you make slipcovers for my upholstered furniture?
Yes. Our upholsterer at the Specialists of the South has the skill to
construct fitted slipcovers for your furniture. Slipcovers are not permanent
installations.
They can be removed.
Yes. The Specialists of the South can cut and install new foam cores for your furniture cushions. We can further wrap these cushions in Dacron to extend the life of the foam. Should the problem really be due to poor support in the frame of the furniture, this too can be addressed and remedied.
Q5. Can you replace the casters on my dining room chairs?
Yes. The Specialists of the South can repair casters that are falling out and can replace the casters if needed. Antique casters can also be furnished.
Q6. Can you cut my barstools down to make them shorter?
Yes. The Specialists of the South can reduce the height of your barstools. We can also add height to your barstools!
Q7. My desktop has a leather insert with a gold hand-tooled design around the edge. It is damaged and stained. Can you replace this leather insert?
Yes. The Specialists of the South offers leather in six colors that
can be embossed in gold in one of eight patterns.
Yes. The Specialists of the South can make it any color desired.
Q9. Does all furniture need to be refinished?
No. At times, our staff at the Specialists of the South will recommend that your piece be deluxed instead of refinished. This does not entail stripping your furniture but rather cleaning and preserving the old finish.
Q10. I need a moving damage report. Can you help me?
Yes. We can provide you with an inspection report that details your
damages and gives repair costs for your items. |
